On the 24th of December, the Pakistan Cricket Board organized a bid for the digital streaming rights to the 7th and 8th seasons of the HBL PSL in Lahore, with Daraz, ASports, Geo TV, Trans Group, and Tapmad among the very competitive bidders.
The bid winner, Daraz, Pakistan’s top e-commerce platform, has already shown to be a game-changer, with over 300 million views during the ICC T20 World Cup streaming. The platform’s objective has been digitalization, and it has been working hard to establish infrastructure to help the country’s e-commerce business grow.
Daraz also believes in making sports, particularly cricket, a force that connects users from all across the country together by providing free-of-charge streaming that no other site can match. According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, Daraz filed the highest bid in compliance with the public tender process, which was 175% higher than prior years due to the rise in digital players in the market.
