Faisal Chaudhry, brother of Pakistani Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry, has been appointed as the prosecutor of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Sources have revealed that the brother of the Information Minister was also appointed as a prosecutor for the National Accountability Bureau in Rawalpindi.
The new appointee as a federal capital prosecutor will take on several key matters in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and in Accountability Courts across the country in addition to taking on corruption cases in the capital. According to recent reports, he’s claimed to be tracking the bogus bank accounts cases against former president Asif Ali Zardari and others.
Earlier, Faisal Chaudhry resigned from the position of additional advocate general with great joy. He was selected for the role in 2018, following the appointment of 18 new advocates general and 42 assistants, almost all of them were drawn from the legal party wings of the ruling party in Punjab.
A member of the legal team representing the former President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf, was also the brother of the federal minister.
