On Monday, the 782nd Urs rites of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya, a Sufi saint of the Sub-Continent, began in Multan.
The shrine’s caretaker, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, opened the Urs festivities by conducting the shrine’s traditional “Ghusal” (ablution).
He emphasised the need of adhering to the saint Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya’s golden principles and teachings. Because of the pandemic coronavirus, the rituals have been kept to a minimum, according to Qureshi.
He realized that while devotees were not physically present at the Urs, they were spiritually connected to the shrine.
The foreign minister wished for the country’s progress and prosperity. He claimed that some factions were aiming to destabilize the country’s calm environment by fomenting sectarianism. To counter the enemy’ malicious plans, he urged unity among the populace.
