Instagram was looking for quite a while to get rid of the like count present on its app. The struggle started somewhere in 2019. It was in 2019 that any news about working on the feature came up. But this is again the talk of the town. Although, there is no official announcement made this time.
Instagram’s PR team tweeted that they are examining and working on a new feature that can hide likes on Instagram’s feed. The tweet was made last week. He made an Instagram post as well. But a bug entered the testing, which caused a lot of confusion. Due to the bug, a lot more users were added to the experiment than intended. Although the bug was dispatched after some hours, yet it left the users confused.

Adam Mosseri-the Instagram head took this issue to his official tweeter handle just a few days back. As we have said before, this is not something new. The company has been working on the feature and running tests in numerous countries, including Canada, Brazil, Australia, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, and Ireland.
The feature is expected to be made live all around the globe once the teat went well. Mosseri explained the cause of the delay. He mentioned that the team had to be divided, which took quite some time and led to delay. Some team members wanted to support small businesses, while others were more inclined towards racial injustice in the US.
That being said, there is still no news about the release or launch date of the feature. Fingers crossed!
