The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, recently made a statement in which he linked the rise in rape cases with the way women dress. Moreover, he said that women in Pakistan should cover up themselves to avoid temptation, which is the reason for the increase in rape cases in Pakistan.
This statement of Imran Khan faced severe backlash. People blamed him for victim-blaming. Numerous people signed petitions demanding an apology from the PM. On this, several celebrities have also come forward and expressed their disappointment. As per the celebrities, they require a safe and secure Pakistan. The Diyar-e-Dil star also expressed his disappointment with PM’s statement.
