A severe earthquake that struck today in regions of Turkey and Syria resulted in significant damage and deaths. Reports state that a 7.8-magnitude jolt was reported initially, followed by a 6.5-magnitude earthquake that wreaked havoc throughout Turkey and Syria. Numerous structures were immediately toppled, and thousands of people are still trapped beneath the debris, waiting for assistance. Turkey has seen more than 1200 fatalities and thousands of injuries. The governments of Syria and Turkey, along with actors and benefactors, are pleading for immediate assistance.
