Rehman Malik, a longtime member of the Pakistan People’s Party, died on Wednesday at the age of 70. Malik’s spokesman, Riaz Ali Turi, said the veteran politician died after having problems with Covid. Malik had to be put on a ventilator earlier when his health got worse.
A former PPP senator who had Covid last month was moved to the intensive care unit of a private medical facility in the country’s capital, but his condition kept getting worse.
In a social media post, Turi told the media that the deadly virus had hurt the lungs of an elderly politician who was having trouble breathing.
Deeply devasted to say that Former Interior Minister, PPP' senior leader Abdul Rehman Malik passed away. Sorrow, pain and grief are indescribable. All are requested to pray for his soul.
