The largest smartphone manufacturers in Pakistan are hardly a surprise. The top brands in our community are already well known to us, but how distinct are they from those in other markets, and what has changed since the previous year?
Samsung Continues to Lead :
According to the most recent data collected by StatCounter, Samsung is still the uncontested king of smartphones in Pakistan based on market share over the past year.
Similar to the previous year, it holds a sizable advantage over the competition in 2022, although this advantage has diminished slightly. Its market share has decreased from 24.51% in the same time of the previous year to 22.81%.
Vivo Ranks Third :
Samsung, Vivo, and Oppo are the top three smartphone brands in Pakistan at the time of writing.
Vivo has overtaken Oppo to become the second-largest phone manufacturer, despite the fact that Oppo still has a slight advantage.
Surprisingly, Huawei is still among the top 5 despite the absence of Google apps and services, but this is no cause for celebration since it is rapidly losing ground. Its 11% market share from the previous year has decreased to 8% and is continuing to decline.
Let’s not overlook Infinix while discussing the top five. The Chinese brand’s market share has increased to 11.06 percent, up from 8.08 percent a year before.
Xiaomi Needs a Boost
Even though Xiaomi has been a very renowned brand in Pakistan over the past few years, it is still nowhere in the top five. Xiaomi still faces competition from Apple and Tecno, both of which are now ranked higher than Xiaomi.
However, there is still hope for Xiaomi given that both Tecno and Apple have lost market share year over year.
Even below Xiaomi, Realme holds only 3.75 percent of the market. Other lesser-known brands hold 2.34 percent of the market share nationwide.
Global Numbers
The statistics for the world as a whole are very different from those for Pakistan. Apple and Samsung both have an equal claim to the throne of the global market, but Samsung continues to hold the title of emperor.
They jointly hold a combined control of 28% of the market. Xiaomi is not even close to being as successful as these two other major brands, but it is still the third largest phone manufacturer in the world.
Huawei Ranks fourth
The only reason Huawei is able to claim the fourth spot on this table is due to the company’s robust presence in China. Oppo is in close competition with Huawei, with a market share of 5.45%.
