Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Ilyas, two of Karachi Kings’ top fast bowlers, have been ruled out of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) owing to injury.
According to a statement from the franchise, Mohammad Amir, who had been suffering from a side strain for the previous week or so, has exacerbated his back injury throughout the rehabilitation process and will no longer be available to play in the remainder of the PSL 7. “Amir has always been a King, and the team wishes him the best in his recovery as he returns to his family soon,” the statement stated.
Despite a major shoulder injury, Mohammad Ilyas returned to bowl two overs in the penultimate match after obtaining treatment.
“MRIs have confirmed the worst, and he has been told to rest for the next six weeks,” according to the Kings statement. “He will be leaving for his home in Peshawar tomorrow evening.”
“The whole Karachi Kings family respects his service and selflessness, which exemplifies the spirit of family and effort that this team stands for, and wishes Ilyas a swift recovery back to his fighting best,” the statement continued.
