In an exclusive interview with CBC’s chief political correspondent Rosemary Barton on Sunday, Prime Minister Imran Khan addressed Islamophobia and called on Western countries to take tougher measures to combat hate crimes against Muslims.

While condemning the Islamophobic attack in Canada, Prime Minister Khan stated that “international action against it is required.” We’re concentrating on bringing countries together to have discussions about it.

He went on to say that the recent pattern of domestic terrorism in Western countries necessitated a greater focus on online radicalization. Following the publication of Salman Rushdie’s book and the September 11 attacks, phrases like Islamic extremism and Islamic radicalism began to be used.
