This feature would address the issue of users being unable to recover their chat history after purchasing a new phone with a different operating system.
According to WABetaInfo, you can’t restore your chat history from iCloud on WhatsApp for Android, and you can’t restore your backup from Google Drive on WhatsApp for iOS.
WhatsApp, on the other hand, is rumored to be working on a function that will uninstall archive chats when they are no longer needed.
WhatsApp is attempting to clear unwanted chats from users’ WhatsApp profiles, according to the website Android Police, which cites WABetainfo.
Many users already archive a chat to keep their app organized, but a server-side test revealed that WhatsApp is working on improving the feature.
By scrolling to the bottom of their app, users can now see old chats. If a new message is received in an archived conversation, it will be deleted from the list of archived conversations and returned to the top.
